Bristol airport Security
Before entering the departure lounge all passengers must pass through security.
You will be asked to produce your boarding card and passport for inspection before being screened.
All hand baggage will be passed through an X-ray scanner and should be kept to a minimum. Security checks are subject to change.
Dangerous and Prohibited Items
Dangerous items
The following items are not permitted to be carried either within hold or hand luggage:

| Gases: | e.g. Propane camping gas, compressed gas cylinders |
| Flammable Liquids: | e.g. Lighter fluid, thinners, petrol |
| Flammable Solids: | e.g. Fire lighters, Magnesium |
| Oxidisers: | e.g. Bleaches, car body repair kits |
| Toxic/Infectious Substances: | e.g. Weed killer, infected blood samples, insecticides |
| Radioactive Materials: | e.g. Medical or industrial sources |
| Corrosives: | e.g. Dry ice, magnetised material |
Prohibited items
The following items are not permitted to be carried in the cabin of the aircraft but may be included in hold baggage:
- Billiard/ snooker/ pool cues
- Builders tools
- Catapults
- Christmas Crackers (Must be sealed)
- Corkscrews
- Darts
- Disposable lighters/gas refills (One lighter per person)
- Firearms including Ammunition or component parts as well as toy and replica guns
- Gas cartridges/refills
- Hammers, nails, screwdrivers
- Household cutlery
- Hypodermic syringes (unless supported by medical evidence)
- Knives of any sort
- Lighter fuel
- Mercury
- Paint
- Razor Blades
- Safety Pins
- Scissors where both blades are round ended
- Scissors with a blade less than 3cm long
- Ski Boots
- Some umbrellas
- Sporting Bats
- Toy or replica guns (plastic or metal)
- Tweezers
- Whistles
N.B The above list is not definitive. Any article that in the opinion of the Aerodrome Manager or Airline Operator may be used or adapted to cause harm will be confiscated.
