Your safety and security is Belfast International Airports top priority. All passengers and hand luggage will be searched before entering the Departure Lounge. You can help speed your journey by not carrying any of the items on the prohibited items list below.
Hand Luggage
Passengers at all airports should allow for increased security. Enhanced security can take time, so please be patient with any additional personal and luggage searches and please carry only one piece of hand luggage.
Each airline may have a slightly different policy on weight restrictions of luggage so if in doubt, please check with the your airline.

The following items however must not be carried onto the cabin of an aircraft, so please ensure that your hand luggage does not contain any of the following:
- Toy guns (plastic or metal)
- Knives with blades of any length
- Metal cutlery, except teaspoons
- Catapults
- Razor blades (unless permanently set in a fixed cartridge)
- Tradesmens tools (e.g. box cutters, drills, drill bits.)
- Darts
- Scissors
- Hypodermic Syringes (unless required for medical reasons)
- Knitting needles
- Corkscrews
- Large sporting bats and clubs (e.g. baseball, golf clubs, cricket bats, hurling sticks)
- Billiard, snooker or pool cues
- Lighters shaped like a firearm
- Ice skates
- Skateboards
- Fishing rods/reels
- Fireworks, flares (including party poppers, toy caps)
- Non safety matches
- Lighter fluids
Or any other article which, in the reasonable contemplation of the aerodrome manager or aircraft operator, might be used or adapted for causing injury or incapacitation of a person.
